lien Hey Molly chosen to support at Eden

18.08.2006 - 14:12 UTC+0 // Source : Tom Kirk -

The Helen Foundation and Muse are pleased to announce that after much careful deliberation and consideration Hey Molly have won the opportunity to support Muse at the Eden Project in Cornwall on Tuesday 22 August 2006.

More than 80 unsigned acts and bands from across Devon and Cornwall
responded to the competition, which was organised through The Helen Foundation, and submitted their demo CDs. Seeing off the incredibly stiff competition, Hey Molly now has the chance to support Muse and perform in front of a sell-out crowd.

Hey Molly are a four piece indie rock band from Devon who formed in late 2004. The band members Oli Irwin (guitar and lead vox), Jordan West (lead guitar), Mat Key (bass guitar), Rob Perry (drums) and Jona (subliminal force) hail from the likes of Kingskerswell, Newton Abbot, Paignton and Teignmouth. In their own words they make catchy, rock'n'roll tunes tainted by blues, punk and even the odd bit of ska here and there and their live performances are energetic and intense.

The band is understandably thrilled and excited to have won the critical acclaim of Muse and the chance to share the stage with them.
You can check out further details of Hey Molly and listen to some of
their tracks on the following sites:

Both The Helen Foundation and Muse wish to express their special thanks to every act or band that sent in their demo CDs and wish them all the very best for the future. We hope that all those acts or bands who have unfortunately not been chosen on this occasion continue to pursue their dreams in the music industry and continue to develop their talents as singers and musicians. Based on the amazing response to this competition it is clear that the music industry in the South West is alive and well and poised to deliver some exceptional talent onto the wider British music scene.

"The new video for starlight is now up on the site. It was filmed on a huge cargo ship off the coast of LA by director Paul Minor. Helicopters, flares and an indian ship crew made it a crazily fun day. Hit the link below to view. Also up on the site is the new artwork for the release. Jasper Goodall has come through with the goods once more.

The new single is out on September 4th. CD1 will contain Starlight and the new B side Easily. A full to the brim DVD contains the video, extended making of, interactive gallery with audio stems of Starlight to play with, as well as a hidden track tucked away. The vinyl picture disc looks great and has Easily on the back. A nice little download will also be available from date of release."
