"Hello. Hope you're all doing well. We have a lucky winner for the French 'Absolution' box set as well as a signed photo of the band! Congratulations to Cristian Tane from Romania, who was randomly picked out of the hat for correctly answering that Hullabaloo was filmed in The Zenith, Paris. Well done to him. We'll be putting another competition on soon with what i think is a very cool prize indeed.
The band are busy getting some new material together and will start recording in the new future. Exciting times.
Cheers for now
After years of rumors and cancelled dates, MUSE's Origin of Symmetry will finally be released in the US on September 20. And while US fans are digesting old music, the band are finishing work on their 4th studio album to be released in 2006.
"British rock act Muse is expected to deliver a new album early next year after signing new recording and publishing deals with Warner Music and Warner Chappell U.K., respectively.
In future, the band will issue its recordings through their own, as-yet unidentified label, which will be distributed by Warner Music. The Brit Award-winning band has completed its recording commitments with U.K.-based label Taste Media, through which its first three studio albums were issued. Taste's owners Safta Jaffery and Dennis Smith have sold the company to Warner Music for an undisclosed sum. A spokesperson for Warner Music International declined to comment.
Meanwhile, Warner Chappell has struck a multi-album publishing deal covering the world outside North America.
"Muse is one of the greatest bands in a new generation of British bands who are changing the global landscape of music,"
comments Warner Music International chairman/CEO Paul-Rene Albertini. "I am thrilled to be associated with the Muse label in partnership with Warner Music U.K., (its chairman) Nick Phillips, (Warner Bros. managing director) Korda Marshall, and the band's management to support Muse's ascension to the next level worldwide."
Jaffery and Smith signed Muse in 1998 and have guided the band's career to date. The trio, who hail from Devon, south west England, have accumulated an estimated total of 4.5 million album sales worldwide."
