Dom posted a message on the official site :
"Hello, after returning from some holiday time we took after reading and leeds, we're now ready to go back into our rehersal studio in london to continue working on the new tracks. We've got about 15 new ones together at the moment which are all feeling really exciting and things seem to be happening quite quickly aswell which is great. We want to spend another month or so getting together to play music without any other ties, which really feels like something we havent done that for about three years, before we start to record towards the end of the year. All of which we will document in a new media section which will be added to the site soon. so keep posted and we'll see you soon,,,,, dom."
MUSE have relocated to an industrial part of east LONDON to write and record a new album that MATT BELLAMY promises to be more "uplifting" than previous efforts. The trio finished promoting second album 'Origin Of Symmetry' at last month's Carling Weekend festivals, where they premiered two new songs - one untitled, the other with a tentative title of 'The Smallprint'. Bellamy told NME.COM the group have been writing and recording, and plan to demo some songs at home before renting out a building in a downtrodden part of Hackney, where they will rehearse and write with a view to a new album next year. He said: "The stuff we're going to do on this album is going to surprise a lot of people. I can't really say why that would be but I've got a feeling it won't be what people expect. We've been writing loads of songs. A lot of the new songs are going in a different direction to what we've done before." Bellamy explained that the new songs are more "uplifting", mostly because he has fallen in love. "I'm not married yet!", he joked. "But I've been drawn into this Italian world. I met this girl from over there so I'm into all that." He added: "I think there'll be some songs that are straightforward rock. (But) some of my favourite new songs are like ABBA!"
MUSE , PRODIGY and SUGABABES are the latest stars to record cover versions of their favourite Number One singles of all time for NME's WAR CHILD album, '1 LOVE'. The album, which is released in October, also features a unique collaboration between Dido and Faithless. Other participants include Oasis, Stereophonics, Manic Street Preachers, Jimmy Eat World , Ms Dynamite, Starsailor, Feeder and Badly Drawn Boy.
As reported previously, the album is being assembled in the same spirit as 1995's 'Help' album (Oasis, Radiohead, Portishead, Massive Attack, Sinead O'Connor, Blur...), which raised considerable funds and awareness for the charity which supports kids caught in war zones around the world.
