About Supermassive Black Hole: "I got quite excited really, quite looking forward to seeing what peoples reacts were, because it's quite different from what we've done before"
Britney Spears, influences: "Actually I must admit, I was listening to them a while ago, and this song probably came out of because we were recording the album, we spent ages in the south of france recording, and the album was turning into a kind of progressive sort of nightmare you know, so it got quite paranoid down there, so we decided to move out to new york and, so we did most of the finishing off of the recording in New York, and when I was out there, I was going out a bit, and I don't know what I was listening to, but I had a friend out there, he was trying to teach me how to do this dj vibe which your very good obviously, but I'm a little bit of an amature, so I went out to this dodgy club called the darkroom,in the east side, it's a pretty cool club, I was attempting to be a kind of dj there, and I was mixing loads of stuff, I did a pretty cool mix between, Depeche Mode's world in my eyes and Eurythmic's Sweet Dreams, that was a pretty good mix, but, I must admit, the thing that got to get the people dancing, was good old Prince, 'Kiss' you know. So I think it's something to do with seeing people dance around like that, and getting into stuff, maybe the album needed more of that going on, so, I think with this one, we tryed to create something that was kind of updated, kind of the opposite thing we have done before. You know, kind of a bit dancy."
Funky: "Yeah, it does'nt really represent what the album is like, it's a bit more of a one off, but you know, there is quite a few surprises on the new album, of different things we tryed a bit, that we hav'nt really done before, but this one of the most unusual ones, on the album, supermassive black hole."
Radio1 big week end festival, how do you feel? "Little bit nervous about that, a little rusty obviously, we will give it our best shot, we are looking forward to playing, it's good to do a gig, after such a long break, kick ass back into gear, I'm looking forward to it, I think we will probably play a few new tracks there, obviously a couple of old ones there aswell."
Do you ever worry about forgetting the words about the old ones? "HAhHAhahahah, no I think I'm pretty good at improvising on the spot when I forget words, and sometimes when you do that, you come up with better ones that are on the album anyway."
