Muse est annoncé au Festival allemand Rock Am Ring se déroulant du 2 au 4 juin prochain.

Hello, long time no see.
We are now currently mixing the new album and hopefully should be finished over the next few weeks. We'll announce the release and touring plans soon. About the album, some new songs deal with awol soldiers, Zeta Reticulans, the sound of Joe Meek's tape machine being thrown down the stairs, the private thoughts of General Zhu Chenghu, feeling strangely comfortable collecting fire wood whilst wielding an axe and of course, how to store Pasta for 12 years using nitrogen flushing. We have also obtained a Buchla. Our very own Marvin sat in the corner depressed too complex to be fun and too unreliable to be a friend. It may have been close to getting blood from a stone but in the end we did get some earnest synth dreams out of him. The 6/8 cycling monster has turned out truly gargantuan, it will have to end the album (a few beserkers may recognize the chordal structure from piano doodlings on previous tours). Also, a sinister presence at the center of our Galaxy has inspired what could be described as a surprisingly casual manage-a-trois involving Prince, R2-D2 and the Queen when she was hot. Oh, by the way "Crying Shame" isn't going to be the first single! So that's it for now, see you all soon we hope.

Le groupe mixe actuellement le nouvel album et devrait terminer d'ici quelques semaines. Ils annonceront le planning des sorties et de la tournée prochainement. "Crying Shame" ne sera pas le premier single. Le reste du message concerne le contenu de l'album qui devrait aborder des thèmes politiques et de science fiction:

"Sound of Joe Meek's tape machine being thrown down the stairs" : Joe Meek est le producteur de "The Tornados" (groupe dans lequel jouait le père de Matthew) et du succès 'Telstar'.
"General Zhu Chenghu" : Général Chinois qui a menacé d'atomiser 100 villes américaines si ceux-ci s'impliquaient entre la Chine et Taïwan.
"awol soldiers" : Soldats déserteurs.
"Zeta Reticulans" : "Au sujet des contacts extraterrestres, le Dr Wolf déclare que la race ET connue couramment comme les "Zeta Reticulans", ou "Gris", s'est engagée dans des négociations diplomatiques avec le gouvernement américain.

Muse est annoncé au festival norvégien Quart'06 le samedi 8 juillet 2006.

Selon Rollingstone: "Muse Break Out the Kleenex - British rockers MUSE will release their first album since 2003's Absolution on May 16th. "A Crying Shame" will be the as-yet-untitled album's first single." "Muse sortira son prochain album le 16 mai, "A Crying Shame" sera le premier single extrait de l'album qui n'est pas encore intitulé. Hmv annonce la sortie du premier single pour le 1er mai.

Selon NME, relayé par leeds-festival-2006.com et reading-festival.org.uk, Muse sera en tête d'affiche du festival de Leeds aux côtés de Pearl Jam et Franz Ferdinand.

Le DVD Absolution tour sortira au Japon le 22 février prochain, au Brésil le 23 février, et avant la fin du mois en Argentine et au Chili. Il est actuellement disponible en Australie et en Nouvelle-Zélande.
